How long does testing take?

The full process typically takes 3-6 weeks, depending on shipping speed and lab processing time. Here's the breakdown:

1. Kit shipping - 2-3 business days (Express) or 3-7 business days (Standard). Your kit ships the same business day your order is placed.
2. Registration and sample collection - about 5-10 minutes. Registering your kit code takes a couple of minutes. Take your time with the sample collection step itself (following the instructions provided) to make sure it's done correctly, rushing can affect sample quality.
3. Sample transit to the lab - 2-7 days. Drop your sample off at FedEx (if you're based in contiguous US). Transit time may vary by location.
4. Lab processing - 2-4 weeks. This is typically the longest part of the timeline.
5. Report delivery - same business day results are finalized. If you ordered directly, you'll be notified by email as soon as your report is ready. If you ordered through a practitioner, your results go to them first and they'll be in touch with your report and next steps.

What can cause delays

• Unregistered kits. If your kit isn't registered before you send in your sample, the lab may not be able to identify it, which can hold up processing until it's resolved.
• Sample return timing. We recommend sending your sample back within 7 days of collection to keep things on schedule. Sending it back promptly helps ensure the best possible testing experience.
• International shipments. Delivery times above are estimates for shipments sent within the contiguous. If you're outside this region, shipping can take longer. Please speak to your provider for expected timelines in your area.
• Provider-managed kits. If your provider supplies your kit or handles your sample's return on your behalf, check with them directly for timing.
